Now mounted and framed the Commissioned Portrait is ready for delivery.
On Ingres paper the frame is 30 X 40cm. The Soft Pastels are Winsor and Newton and Sennelier. Faber Castell Pastel Pencils used for detail.
I have just stocked up on Portrait hues. I need around 150 different Pastels to achieve the desired results on all subjects.

It is very very good. I told you I think that many of Monet's pictures at the Royal Academy didnt impress me but this does. davidjohn

Thanks. Some people do like less realistic paintings.
That is real art, you have achieved the impossible. The flesh looks like flesh, the eyes are alive.
There are those who dismiss with, 'anyone can do that', 'if you want realism you can use a camera'. The squares and circles brigade.
To them I say, go on then do it.

Yes art is subjective.
For of a commission of a likeness the person expects realism.

I agree, they are lovely. You have a lightness of touch which is sometimes difficult to achieve. How old is the little girl? 6? or 7?

I was just going to email you.
We sent you a text on the mobile as we passed, as we did to dirkboregard, they didn't seem to work. We tried to ring on the landline using a 3003 card, it wouldn't work.
The TI said, we have had a lot of complaints about those cards and we can't get the help line. Later it started to work.
It was pouring with rain at both locations. Ah well, as you say next time.
The weather was much cooler this year, I have lots of sketches and photos for paintings.
